I have been on hiatus from half-wired for a few weeks, because of final exams and life in general. Now that I’m finally free, Christmas is days away. So I will pick things up after that. For now, just a few notes on recent stuff that’s worth a read:
- The Miami Herald’s Juan Tamayo’s coverage of the latest (disappointing) developments in Cuba’s economic reform initiative.
- Phil Peters at The Cuban Triangle has been doing great work on cables released by Wikileaks that were sent from the US Interest Section in Havana between 2007 and 2009.
- Yoani’s post on “empty archives” and the meaning of an organization like Wikileaks in a place like Cuba. It may be a bit exaggerated, but she’s the only Cuban blogger I’ve seen who’s writing on this.
